Guest guest
Janie I'm thinking that every man, woman, and child in the Houston and Greater Houston area is estrogen dominant. Just look at (and smell of, yuk!) the crud in the air. Brazoria Cty is I think the third dirtiest one? and that's where I live. Add the fact that we lose our progesterone naturally as we get older, and we're talking 10 times perimenopausal effects than what it used to be for our grandmothers. I went absolutely ballistic during that time period and suspect myself to be postmenopausal at this point (early hyst, but one ovary was still there, 17 yrs ago, at age 36), but still in estrogen dominance, due to being told that I wasn't even making ANY progesterone at ALL, even at that age. She did tell me zilch, 0, nada, not even a little. However, she said I was still making a HUGE amt of estrogen, and that's just the way she put it. It didn't alarm me then because I knew nothing about the detrimental effects that it would later have or already was. To me, that made me more feminine. Huh!! Nothing could be further from the truth!! That was weird to me to be making nothing at that age. Of course, we didn't know that I was developing thyroid disease either, and I was starting to get skinny as a rail and nervous, at that same time. And testosterone does have EVERYthing to do with a sense of well-being, plus many other things, like muscle tone and definition (and I don't mean those huge muscles guys have, just less body fat and more lean muscle), clearer thinking, and a good type of aggression, not homicidal, lol. Most of the stuff that I've read about a good progesterone cream usually says that it takes anywhere from 30 to 90 days to feel the results, but I KNOW that my sleep improved within 2 days of taking it, then mood changes withing a couple of weeks, for me. My interesting LAB RESULTS just came in > > > Just talked to my NP's assistant. > > TSH: .01 > Free T3: 376 (high end of range is 420) > Free T4: 1.0 (where I always am) > > NOTE that free T3 of 376. This is an example of where your free T3 SHOULD BE at > the minimum when you are on an optimal dose.
