Guest guest
It is true of calcium, but I have not heard this about magnesium. Calcium products should be separated by around 3 to 4 hrs, not because of thyroid hormone blockage out in the body cells, like soy does, but rather because of literal digestive competition, i.e., the thyroid hormone isn't even absorbed out of the gut because it is cancelled out by the effects of calcium. Iron, exactly the same thing. Be aware that some substances block thyroid hormones at the thyroid receptors, and others simply cancel it out in the stomach before it even has a chance to get anywhere. T4 is particularly affected by what goes on in the gut. T3 is a lot heartier in the digestive tract. Remember that Armour also has even more T4 than T3. Some people say that it's only the synthetic T4 that's affected by the digestion (pulling off a sodium molecule, so it has to go through the digestive tract), but I still think that all T4 is more fragile in the stomach. I could have sworn that at some point way back when, I heard that magnesium shouldn't be taken within a certain amt. of time of taking armour. Is this true? or not? > What about calcium? I thought it was true of calcium too. > Cris
