Guest guest
Could this be endometrial ablation, used to stop heavy bleeding by destroying the endometrium? I don't think it removes fibroids, though. There are a few methods for doing this, including circulating hot water in a balloon, freely circulating hot water and, I think, using some sort of laser. Hot water uterine rinse? Has anyone heard of this procedure to remove fibroids?
Guest guest
I believe you are asking about ablation. I had the hydro-thermal ablation done on October 15 of this year. Water was introduced into my uterus and heated. The heated water remains in the uterus for 10 minutes and burns the lining. It is then cooled and drained. The procedure is monitored for water temperature and pressure. Mine was done under general anesthesia. Some women get no more periods after the ablation. I am still having periods but they are much, much lighter and I had no cramps during my last period. This is a huge improvement as I bled very heavily and had very intense cramping before the ablation. The only down part is that I still have my fibroid. I'm on watch mode to see if it will continue growing. nne > Has anyone heard of this procedure to remove fibroids?
