Guest guest
This site has a chart of " Average sizes of items " : http://www.fibroiduae.com/fibro5.htm Scroll about halfway down to the question: " I am confused as to the way the size of a uterus is compared to the size of a pregnant uterus at different months. Could you give me some way to understand this? " In order to give credit where credit is due, 'twas Roma who posted this site back in August... I have an 8 cm. fibroid and it has been described as big (I also have one that is 4 cm.). For a variety of reasons -- heavy bleeding, big belly, discomfort during sex, etc. -- I feel mine have to come out. Depending on your symptoms, the " wait and watch " option may be acceptable, *but* you have to be very clear about what it is you are waiting and watching for. I think it was Pat that talked about this option being *active* rather than passive: have its growth checked every couple of months, keep track of your symptoms and make some decisions about at point these symptoms become unacceptable. (i.e. missed work one or two days a month for 3 months; missed 5 social engagments; etc.). The point being: you don't want your life going slowly downhill until your fibroid is in control, not you. --Lee --On Tuesday, December 16, 2003 3:38 PM +0000 uterinefibroids wrote: > (unknown) > > how big is 8cm? is that like a plum orange or what? should a 8cm be > taken out? is that big or small? > > Thank u
