Hello ladies,

have any of you had to have more than one hysteroscopic resection in a short

period of time? This Thursday I will be having my third surgery since

September of this year. It is necessary for my doctor to operate multiple

times because I have been harvesting so many submucosal fibroids, more

appear after each surgery. He says I have a tendency to bleed heavily

toward the end of each surgery which makes it difficult for him to see after

about 60 minutes of the procedure. Following each surgery I have had an

in-office hysteroscopy to look at the endometrium. After the larger

fibroids were removed more smaller ones popped into the cavity that weren't

seen during surgery.

So here I am going in again for the third time. My surgeon is hopeful that

this will be the last time, but he warns me it may not be.

Have any of you had so many submucosal fibroids that you have needed several

surgeries just to remove them all? My doctor said he would rather perform

several hysteroscopic resections than go in abdominally to remove all the

fibroids at once because I want to get pregnant and already have many scars

in my myometrium from a previous ab myo four years ago.

Does this make sense to any of you?

I have faith that my doctor knows what he is doing. He is very honest with

me about each surgery and the risks. I am willing to be patient and go

through all these surgeries because I know the outcome will be wonderful...

hopefully we can TTC next year after the fibroids are gone!

If any of you ladies have experienced these multiple surgeries or just have

an opinion about them, please share. I feel like I'm always the exception to

every medical treatment I receive.

Thanks so much,

Sonja :)
