Guest guest
Hello Ladies, I am new to this group, and it sounds like many of our stories are the same. I am 47 years old, no children (3 miscarriages). I had an myo six years ago for three fibroids, which were described to me as a baseball, a pingpong ball and a marble! Now I have a uterus covered with more fibroids, and have been advised to have a hysterectomy! Anyway I guess my only option is to get rid of them once and for all. I have had three opinions, so I guess that's it. I did get an acupuncture treatment today for the first time, and I was told that my largest fibroid was too large 10cm, and could be reduced to half at best. Anyway, the only advice I can give you younger ladies is don't procrastinate like I did! I'll be having my surgery after New Years. Good Luck, and Best Wishes! Guest guest
Hi Some ladies have had more than one myomectomy and you could always discuss and look into ideas such as uterine artery embolisation with, or without a myomectomy. Pre-operation fibroid shrinking drugs are another thought. There are other treatments for fibroids too. I don't know if these are the right options for you and don't have a good knowedge of all the pros and cons, but it's something to think about. You'll probably find different doctors have different attitudes about treatments and that radiologists and gynaecologists sometimes disagree about UAE.
