Beth,

What a great story! I came back to this group today because I have

just been diagnosed with a second fibroid (had one removed last

April by abdominal myomectomy), and I am currently TTC! I am on

Clomid, on cd12, and went in today for an u/s to check my follicles.

Anyway, I was not very happy when my OB/Gyn told me that I had

another fibroid, which is very small (probably about the size of an

almond), but nonetheless, in my uterine lining towards the front of

my utereus. I am very, very scared to go ahead with my plans to get

pregnant this month, but my doctor told me the same as yours: most

women do fine and have little or no symptoms with a fibroid of this

size. But, after reading your story, I am now concerned that I will

have problems as well. I wondered if anyone out there has NOT had

problems with their fibroids while pregnant? I am TTC my third

child, and my last, so I just want so much to get pregnant now,

before these fibroids ruin my chances of any more babies. My mother,

grandmother, aunt and cousin all had fibroids and hysterectomies in

their late 30s/early 40s. I am 36 next month, and seem to be headed

down the same path.

Anyway, good luck to you, and let me know if you have any more info

on this. Thanks!

Kim

Kim,

I agree with 's response/advice to " just go for it " . Despite the bedrest

and problems I have had, I know I would do it all over again (and I haven't even

gone through the pain of childbirth yet). I know I would have been scared to

get pregnant had I known what the potential problems were, but I'm grateful that

I did get pregnant and just moved forward because I am proof that despite the

problems that you can encounter during pregnancy with a fibroid, it still is

possible to make it to the end. I think I would go into it armed with some

information about what you could face - then just hope and pray that those

scenarios aren't the case in your situation. Good luck!!!

Beth

Any feedback? Success stories? Honesty, please. I am

Thank you Beth. I also agree with you and , and am going for

it. I will hopefully be one of those women whose fibroid doesn't

cause them any problems during pregnancy, and if not, I'll just deal

with what comes. I am so very, very lucky to have two beautiful

children and no problems with those pregnancies. What more can I ask

for!
