Guest guest
I posted on this board last April, when I was trying to determine whether or not I should have a myomectomy to remove a 4x3x4 interuterine fibroid (within the lining of my utereus--can't remember what they are called). Well, I did have the myo in April, and have started Clomid this month to try to get pregnant. All went well with the myo, and so far, all is going well with the Clomid, except that when I went in today for my cd12 u/s, to check follicles for ovulation, I was told I have yet another fibroid. This is pretty small--basically 1.5cm all the way around, but I am very concerned, as my last u/s just four weeks ago didn't show this fibroid. My question is: can Clomid cause a fibroid, and/or increase the rate that it grows? Can you have a healthy, uneventful pregnancy with a fibroid of this size, or is it sure to grow if I do indeed get pregnant this month? My OB/Gyn told me that although he can't predict if the fibroid will cause any problems should I get pregnant, he feels it's safe to get pregnant at this time, and not to worry too much about it. He told me that because the fibroid is so small now, there is nothing I can do about it yet anyway, and to go ahead and get pregnant as soon as possible, before things get worse. A little history--my entire side of my female family, on my mother's side, has had a history of uterine fibroids, and all have had a hysterectomy in their late 30s/early 40s because of them. I am 35 (36 next month) and I seem to be following the exact same path. I also had an ovarian cyst two months ago, which did resolve on its own. I have two children (3 and 1 1/2), and really want one more, so it's now or never, as far as I am concerned, with pregnancy. Any feedback? Success stories? Honesty, please. I am trying to beat the fibroid clock, but additional uterine surgeries to remove the fibroid(s) aren't really an option as it will really cause a problem with pregnancy. I've had two c-sections and the abdominal myo in April, where they had to cut through my utereus each time. Thank you for your help! Guest guest
Kim, I am 27 weeks pg and got pg knowing full well I had multiple large fibroids. I am not giving any advice but if I were in your shoes, I would just go for it and get pg. That fibroid may not cause you any problems at all. And if you wait to see what it does, it just may grow too big that you have no choice but to treat it. Good luck! --- kim_k_2001 wrote: > Any feedback? Success stories? Honesty, please. Guest guest
Thanks for the advice, . I am going to do just that! I won't know unless I try, and I've already taken the Clomid, and had the HCG shot to trigger ovulation this morning. Now, it's up to DH to take over from here, and get me pregnant! Good luck to you, and I'll let you know what happens. Kim > Kim, > I am 27 weeks pg and got pg knowing full well I had > multiple large fibroids.
