Guest guest
I find the following interesting – both because of the use of FUS for malignant tumors – which we haven’t been hearing of much prior to this & because there is no mention of the trials on humans for fibroids. -- only mentions tests on animals and on men with prostate cancer --- I know we're not men -- do you suppose fibroid women are counted as " animals?? " --- Hummm, is it really being tested on fibroids – or is it being tested on fibroid women for some other purpose(s) -- or both? “Focused ultrasound promising for kidney cancer “Last Updated: 2003-12-15 13:47:11 -0400 (Reuters Health) “NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) appears to be a safe and potentially effective treatment for advanced kidney cancer. “Moreover, in contrast to other therapies such as freezing, HIFU is not invasive as the ultrasound energy is delivered extracorporeally, i.e., from outside the body. “In animal experiments, the technique has been shown to coagulate and kill tumors while sparing normal tissue. It has already been tried in people, as a treatment for an enlarged prostate and for localized prostate cancer .. “ . . .” Go to “Health e-Line” – “More Stories” to find the rest of this at: http://www.reutershealth.com/en/index.html Pat _________________________________________________________________ Browse styles for all ages, from the latest looks to cozy weekend wear at MSN Shopping. Guest guest
Hi Pat I guess an article can only be as informative as the knowledge of the person writing it. Apparently this author hasn't heard of the clinical trials using FUS for fibroids. I have put all my faith in this new treatment working and all the people at Brigham and Women's hospital that I've met seem trustworthy and above board. Less than one month til my treatment date. I want to believe I'm making the right decision so I'm banking on this article simply overlooking the studies involving women and fibroids. ~ in Ct.
