Guest guest
Hi Lem and Beck- poor Beck. She's going to have to stay off that footer. Did you folks do all the cooking at your house yesterday? What did ya have to eat? I made scalloped corn and husband made scalloped oysters, which we took up to my sister's. Turkey and stuffing was great, had the taters and gravy, a baked cheese and bread strata, squash from my dad's garden, a green gelatin salad, there were shrimp and nuts, pumpkin and a wonderful mince pie from stepmother.I hated mince as a kid, but love it now. She made it from scratch and it was best I've ever had. Lynn, you are naughty- working too hard yesterday and then getting involved with Christmas boxes!!!! When is your next doctor appointment? Maybe you should get yourself there. Like Vicki, I have grinding noises in my neck and my knees and have been lucky with my lower back and sciatica problem for some time now--- hope it stays that way. When I vacuum, especially stairs, my lower back does ache, but that will probably be ongoing. Vicki, I hope you do NOT get sick. Just rest even more. That's a LOT of people in a small house! When I've had 12 or 13 in mine I feel claustrophobic! Might happen for Christmas.... so I need to figure out some things. Mike, keep in mind that your American cousins sleep AFTER the big meals. And the women sleep after ALL the cooking and clean-up work is done (which sometimes is never). I am going to have a nice NAP today, and I didn't even host dinner yesterday:)
Guest guest
, Your thanksgiving sounds so yummy. I LOVE mincemeat pie. I haven't had it since I was a kid though. You brought back some good memories for me though. Thanks! Beck, I hope you are feeling better soon. Make Lem wait on you and bring you treats!! Guest guest
Hi , oh yum, your dinner sounds so terrific. We didn't do any cooking at home this year. Becks mom wanted us to come to her house so we decided to do that. We have only spent about 4 or 5 thanksgivings with her in 31 yrs. of our marriage. She fixed the traditional dinner, turkey, dressing, gravy, green bean cassarole, noodles, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs and stuffed celery. Homemade bread, pumpkin and apple pies. I have been helping Beck with the cooking, I have gotten hamburgers from the sonic the last two nights, haha. ph enrolled in his spring class's wednesday, how is doing? I wish him well. Dawn your letter from your doctor sounded pretty good in a postive way. Thank you for the well wishes to beck. Lynn hope your back is feeling better, thanks for the well wishs for becks foot. The kids put up the Christmas tree and decorated some through the house. They did a good job. Also to Zanna, thank you also. Your talking about your " boys " has Beck thinking about a puppy for maybe for Christmas. Hope you next treatment goes good for you. My new rhummy doc told me to think about taking them. Can you tell how they are making a differance for you? After you take all you can have then what? I was just wondering. Sure hope they are helping you. Vicki, you take care and beat that cold. I think the advice you got for plenty of bed rest, vit. C and pumpkin pie was quite excellant. Take care. Beck has a walking cast so she can wobble around some. They had to re-set her foot when they put this cast on so she is having more pain with it. Doc said it was like starting all over. She conplains of the pain being more in her lower leg above the ankle. The break is on the top side of her foot and then cracked along the side of her heel. Both on the left side. Does that seem strange that her leg would hurt? I guess pain does radiate. Talking about the feet I wish you a speedy recovery on yours Lelia. Hope everyone is doing well tonight and have a good weekend. lem > Hi Lem and Beck- poor Beck. She's going to have to stay off that footer. Did > you folks do all the cooking at your house yesterday?
