Guest guest
Hi Sara, I was touched by your last sentences about consultants offering real help in difficult situations. Therefore I would like to add that I have had the same good experience: When shortly after my AS treatment my marriage broke I realized that it is too much for my friends to listen over and over again to all those thoughts I needed to express and discuss and that it was time to see someone who would not only be willing to listen but would also have a few good ideas as to what I could do better in order to handle the situation with my ex-husband regarding our daughter. It has helped me to realize why our marriage couldn´t work from the beginning and why it is me who has to change if I don´t want to keep yelling at him for this disappointment. All I can say is that if you find the right counsellor I think it is a wonderful opportunity to learn about oneself and be sure that this person is simply paid for discussing different matters with you in order to help. Like you I can only encourage members who feel lost in this struggle for fertility (which, of course, has tremendous effects on relationships, too) to find help that way. Part of why this group is so wonderful is naturally due to the fact that we altogether act as a counsellor: we listen to whatever someone has to say, we grieve with them, we offer advice without expecting it to be followed etc etc. But there are times when one needs someone who knows about our personal life´s story and can work with us accordingly. Thanks for mentioning this, Corinna P.S. Would you believe, I still haven´t got the T-shirt ....
