Just a quick thought on the " always hungry " thread.....

Are you being well hydrated? I have experienced the hunger feeling, only to

discover that it's really dehydration. This is NOT the same as water

loading. No. This is getting and STAYING hydrated. Pay attention to that,

and see if it helps. If not, is it possible that you have an SLD????

I'm in agreement with the well-hydrated comment.

Also, if you are truly feeling hunger, perhaps your body is craving

something that it is not getting. I know that when I cut back on the carbs,

up the protein (food-protein, not the protein drinks), I feel better. Red

meats work best for me, the feeling of satiety that I get after eating a

steak lasts for hours. I even get a feeling of well-being. (I've never had

a problem with digesting it, though I know others may.) Fish also fills me

for hours. I am all chickened-out, but I will prepare chicken breasts on

occasion.

I feel extreme hunger the week before I get my period. I'll be able to eat

a big salad or a whole steak... but I will be back to normal the next week,

and my appetite once again diminishes.

Some carbs make me crazy. I still eat them, but when I do I am aware that I

will feel 'hungry' more often than if I stick to a lower-carb / higher

protein regimen. (Legumes are the exception. They are complex carbs and

have a low glycemic index.)
