Guest guest
Hi, . I'm sorry to hear that you're having so much bladder pain. I did have some bladder discomfort after my myo, but I wouldn't really call it pain. My bladder was just sort of tender the way it is when you have a urinary tract infection that isn't full-blown yet. It just sort of felt as if my bladder had been jostled. That feeling went away after a few days, though. If you are in extreme pain, I would suggest seeing a doctor before the appointment with the urologist. At the very least, they may be able to give you some pain killers to tide you over until they can perform surgery. One thing to know about adhesions is that their effect on you can vary depending on how long it's been since your surgery. My father had adhesions after his bladder and prostate removed. The adhesions obstructed his digestive system. The doctor said that adhesions are toughest during the first three months after surgery. After that, they soften up, and sometimes the related problems go away. That's what happened to my father; once his adhesions softened up, his digestive system was OK. Guest guest
I am three months post MYO (Aug 12) and am also having pain issues (near my bladder and left pelvic area) which may be related to adhesions or scar tissue. Its good to know that your father's problem finally relieved itself. I was also told that over time, scar tissue can ease and stretch themselves out and then stop hurting. Tomorrow, I'm going for some Acupuncture to see if the pain can be eased at least so I can go back to work. Guest guest
Thanks Cheryl, you have given me some hope about the adhesions possibly softening after some time. I am going to see my gyno on Monday to find out more.
Guest guest
JenD- Please let me know what you find out about the acupuncture, and any results you get from it. I am very interested. You can email me privately at kristinb_21@... or through the list. My pain is also on the left pelvic area and bladder. It is quite debilitating. I am going to see my gyno on Monday to find out more about what this could be, but I don't think I can deal with it for several months. Guest guest
Hi , I had a myomectomy in June of this year, and I also had pain when urinating. I don't know if my pain is the same as yours or not, but if it is, you may be worrying for nothing. At some point when we're under, the doctors fit us with one of those cathadars for urination. When I woke up mine was still in and they did not remove it until the next day of my recovery. When they did, boy was I in pain. It hurt to urinate for more than a week afterwards. My doctor told me that it was normal. The cathadar irritates the urethra (is that the correct part?) and it takes a while to heal. I was also concerned about adhesion. I think anyone who has had surgery is. I see an herbalist and accupuncturist, and the advice she gave me is different than my doctor's. She said to keep a warm compress on the abdomen. Many doctors tell you to keep a cold compress to fight inflamation and swelling, but she said that that also helps to coagulate blood and promotes adhesion. I don't know if you want to take this advice since it is not coming from a licensed medical doctor, but to me it sounds logical. Hope this helps! Ketty > Has anyone else experienced such pain, or had experience with adhesions after myomectomy? I am very frustrated because I was getting better and feeling good, now I feel as if I've gone backwards with this. Should I just go ahead with the urologist or insist that my gyno see me before that?
