Guest guest
Tina, good for you for getting them to overnight the helmet. If they hadn't i was going to advise you to demand another scan/casting because a baby's head can change so much in that little time. There should me no more than, I think, 10 days between casting and fitting. With your concerns about how they treated the ordering of your band, please make sure you keep a close eye on how they are adjusting the helmet each time, and ask a question as soon as it comes into your head. You apparently have to be the one making sure things are handled correctly with our dd's helmet. Pleas elet us know how it goes when the helmet comes in. Guest guest
--- Hi Jen, Counting the day that she was scanned 10/6 today will be the 14th day. Now they said on Tuesday it would be overnighted right? So I expected a call yesterday (wednesday) and today is Thursday and I still have not heard from them. My concern is: she is still wearing the first band and it looks to me that the entire back of her head is flating out and the top of her head is getting taller. I think this is happening because there is no growth room in the back of the band so her head is growing up instead of out and around. I am so afarid to take off the band and leave it off until the new one comes in. I don't want to have to put her through that adjustment period again. What should I do? Because she is so used to it now and she doesn't sweat like she did at the beginning. I just don't know what to do. Any and all help would be appreciated. Guest guest
Hi Tina, Okay, so here's my two cents... Leave off the old band!! It sounds like it has been a bad fit from the start and now it sounds like it is making things worse. You don't want her head height increased or the flatness to get worse. She'll adjust in no time to the new band, don't worry. The new band... I would be soooo MAD! I would call them right now and demand better service. It is not acceptable what they are doing. If they don't have that new one today, she should be rescanned and the new one (third?) should be overnighted to you. A delay in getting her a new helmet IS NOT OKAY at this point. I couldn't stand waiting any longer and wasting even more time trying to correct her head. As you can see, I am mad for you. Your baby deserves better from these people. Are they good at adjusting the helmets? Maybe its time you go somewhere else. I don't know. You have been patient and understanding. Now it is time to make things happen. Jenna is at a good age to get this corrected, but shouldn't wait any longer. DOES ANYONE ELSE AGREE WITH ME????? I just don't want you, Tina, to feel like you are alone in your concerns. Keep pressing on and doing the best for Jenna! - Boise, ID > > > > {{{{{TINA}}}}} I so feel your pain and frustration! Guest guest
Can I ask wha company this is that you are working with and what kind of elmet ou are getting? If you don't get that helmet on her head by the end of the week, you have to demand a rescan or another casting. Over two weeks is WAY too long to go between casting and fitting as her head could have changed drastically in that time. Also, if she is wearing a helmet that has come to the end of its effectiveness it could be doing more harm than good. I can tell you are already being agressive with them so just keep it up. Don't let them walk all over you. Good luck! becky , repo grad > > > > {{{{{TINA}}}}} I so feel your pain and frustration! Guest guest
I agree 100%. It sounds like you are going to have to MAKE it happen. Don't give in. You and Jenna are the ones who will have to live with how this turns out, not them, so don't let them make you feel bad for demanding better from someone you are paying a great deal of money to!!!!
