Guest guest
I posted this last night but haven't seen it come through. Sorry if this doubled, but I'm going to repost through yahoo this morning and see if this gets through. My mail server is down for a little while. Anyway, does anyone here own a Pomeranian. I have the option to get one today, but I hear they shed. Do they shed as bad as cats do? They are adorable dogs, but before I subject my apartment to all that hair, I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into. I've never had a dog before. Guest guest
Jennette...I had a Pom, Sammy, a couple of years ago. I was his 3rd owner and he passed away at about 9 years. He was my baby for sure. I don't remember him shedding a great deal. I would have gotten another one if I could have afforded it, but I have my schnauzer, Smokey now. (pic enclosed..brag-brag!) Anyway, I would have Sammy shaved in the summer. You will enjoy your puppy I am sure!! They are wonderful companions. I envy you... Guest guest
Could not find out anything on shedding but here is this blurb: So you want to own an Pomeranian? The Pomeranian is a magnificent family pet, he is hearty and strong despite his fragile appearance. The Pomeranian's coat gives the appearance of being difficult to care for, but it is actually quite easy, a regular brushing will keep the coat in good condition.. So you want to own an Pomeranian? I'd worry about the dog poop before I'd worry about hair. Mikey non nf2 - dog > I posted this last night but haven't seen it come through. Guest guest
Mia MacCollim trains puppies for hearing dogs, like Mike and family did. I noticed her at the Con and she had like a band which fit around the muzzle of the dogs. I think that is how they teach them not to bark. I don't think my dog has a voice, no one has ever heard him bark! LOL Mike, what say, is this a kind way to teach a dog not to bark? marie non nf2 - dog > I posted this last night but haven't seen it come through. Guest guest
No Marie, that was a Gentle Leader, works good for training the dog to walk without pulling. When they pull this band tightens around their muzzle. Mike non nf2 - dog > I posted this last night but haven't seen it come through. Guest guest
Shows you what I know=and why I don't train dogs. I thought it was a good idea for training them not to bark!! Maybe I could patent it for that? marie non nf2 - dog > I posted this last night but haven't seen it come through. Guest guest
If you are looking for a non-shedder and a very quiet dog, look into a Bischon or African Barkless. These are the best two breeds for companionship, watchdogs, and extremely family oriented. Check with a reputable breeder. They will be more than willing to work with you.
