Guest guest
Hi Amber, this hanger facility doesn't sound like the place to go. I can definitely understand your frustration. 4 weeks is too long. we started at 2 weeks then moved to 3 weeks after 6 mo (we had a starband). if they " only do 4 weeks " then i don't think they are taking advantage of hanger being an active band. i wonder if they even use the regular hanger band, or if they use a passive band/helmet. If you can swing the $ for CT I would definitely do that. You should still appeal to get your insurance to cover it (probably after you've gotten the band so you won't have to delay too much). I would also try and get as much info about the hanger ortho as possible. for example if he has very little experience banding, or uses a passive vs an active band those might be things to include in your appeal letter(s). I didn't have to appeal so I " m not an expert, but these things definitely seem key in deciding that the hanger treatment would not be adequate. good luck, -christine mom to sdyney/ 14 mo/ starband grad 10-06 > > Well we are out of Las Vegas, and our incusrance covers Hanger. Guest guest
is there a site where i can get more info about the hanger band? does anyone else that use hanger only see the pt every 4 weeks? I dont have the cash to pay out of pocket, and financing is out of the picture due to lack of credit (i am only 19 and my DH is only 21) I will go with hanger if that is my only choice though. because i am convinced that some treatment is better than none...but if someone has more info about hangers " normal " treatment times, i would love to hear from them. -- In Plagiocephaly , " christineashok " <christineashok@...> wrote: > > Hi Amber, > this hanger facility doesn't sound like the place to go. Guest guest
Hi Amber, I am probably your mom's age :-) I understand the problem. I looked on google and found a few phone numbers for hanger in Las Vegas - maybe you can see if the others provide banding (I'm in china on business so ignore the extra chinese characters): Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics - 2.0 ‰p—¢ ¼ - 526 S Tonopah Dr # 120, Las Vegas, 89106 - (702) 366-9681 Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics - 7.0 ‰p—¢ ¼ - 7250 Peak Dr # 120, Las Vegas, 89128 - (702) 360-9162 Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics - 9.9 ‰p—¢ " ì - 2625 Wigwam Pkwy # 102, , 89074 - (702) 614-5232 hopefully some hanger moms will chime in. I don't think hanger has much data online. -christine > > > > > > Well we are out of Las Vegas, and our incusrance covers Hanger.
