Guest guest
I just wanted to add this article because it might be a reason why people are having trouble getting prescribed Armour. Just search Clinical Thyroidology, click on the number 1.. Go to the March 2004. Read the section on Hypothyroidism. It says to get the t4 the upper part of the range to raise the t3 up to lower depression.etc. It compares the just t4 and the t4plust3 medicines. Hope I don't get in trouble for posting this. Guest guest
The problems with these tests are twofold! First, the combo they used to test the T4 & T3 was both synthetic T4 & T3 with no natural hormones. Next they kept these hypo folks with a TSH value around 1.8.. For me and many others on this forum, that is NOT a good TSH where we feel decent. I don't start to feel good till I am under 1.0. As long as they are keeping testing by the TSH they will never see improvement in psychological symptoms of hypothyroid. The depression does not go away till you are close to being optimized usually with a TSH under ..01. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
Yes that is right. My TSH is 0.01 and I feel great. I just thought it was kind interesting about the ways they do testing on people. Totally do not agree with it. It all depends on SYMPTOMS NOT LABRESULTS. Guest guest
Another thing...how many of these people had antibodies? If they did, wouldn't that just throw the TSH off anyway? And if I remember right, they reduced the T4 too much when they added the T3 so the net effect was nil. Laurie Re: Found an article on Clinical Thyroidology about Hypothyroidism!! Guest guest
I asked my dr. for an antibodies test last week because I told her the TSH & T4 tests she previously took might be skewed because of antibodies. I don't know the results yet tho. ----- Original Message ----- From: Laurie Brown Another thing...how many of these people had antibodies? If they did, wouldn't that just throw the TSH off anyway?
