Guest guest
Hi gang, Funny, when I took my daughter to see the Endo on Friday, he prescribed a trial of 30mg of ARMOUR Thyroid. She works for a company that makes generic pharmaceuticals. He said, " Sorry, but it has to be Armour, the generics just don't work as well in this case. " I'm assuming this was actecdotal, but she goes back to see him on Friday, I can try to find out if maybe he knows something we don't. Guest guest
All this is no surprise to me, though I feel really bad for the ones that can't find a Dr. that will prescribe it. I have been against generic medicine from the being. Never did take generic anything! Today is day 5 of taking Armour Thyroid, and I am not feeling well at all. I'm cold for the first time in awhile, and had a hard time getting out of bed, usually I jump up before the alarm. I was on 50 of Synthroid. I am only on 60 mg's of Armour, so I am sure I need more, but I am also sure that this Dr. will not give me more, so the hunt for another Dr. is still on. :-(( I hate hearing that the generic doesn't work, I have some coming soon. I will have to take it along with my Armour, but it might work ok since I will have the real thing too. I love hearing all the success stories, it gives us encouragement!! Keep them coming! Guest guest
Everyone keep in mind, that while the generic may not be as potent as Armour, I am alive and well on it! I may have to take more of it than if I had Armour, but I am not complaining as long as I can at least get generic I am thankful!!! Gone are the crippling pain in my legs, shoulders, and arms.. gone is the horrible fluid retention and high blood pressure, and gone is the bronchitis and Pneumonia I got ever year usually at least twice! As I said, it is a whole lot better than Synthroid or none! *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
My NP prescrbed Armour & got generic from the pharmacy. And I ordered the generic myself too. I'm going to ask her for geniuine Armour next time at the dose I'm now taking or higher. Maybe I'll feel better on that. If she refuses, she's toast.... ----- Original Message ----- From: Kathy All this is no surprise to me, though I feel really bad for the ones that can't find a Dr. that will prescribe it. Guest guest
I'd give anything to get rid or even lessen my crippling spinal, hands, feet & all over joint pain & allergies too. That's the worst of it for me. I can handle the fatigue & depression better by resting/sleeping, not doing as much. But the pain is the absolute pits & makes worse depression & exhaustion. Maybe its just one needs to take more generic than the usual Armour to get the same results. Don't know. But I'd like to try the Armour Brand to see the difference from t he generic I'm now on. Maybe the Nature Throid I just ordered will make a difference too...but likely not until I get a more optimum dose. ----- Original Message ----- From: T Everyone keep in mind, that while the generic may not be as potent as Armour, I am alive and well on it! Guest guest
That is very interesting, Debbie. I sure would like to know more about that. ........joan Hi gang, Funny, when I took my daughter to see the Endo on Friday, he prescribed a trial of 30mg of ARMOUR Thyroid. Guest guest
that is true . I can't imagine not having anything to take to ease the symptoms. That would be a true 'nightmare'. I'm gonna stick with the 4 1/2 grains and see how it works. I am just leary of upping it too much, too soon as I'm already at working up to 5 grains. Guest guest
Well I experimented with cutting the thyroid and upping my Cytomel... NOPE. I am back to my 7 grains and 50 mcg Cytomel. And just for the last three days I put the DHEA back in. I have also started Selenium, 100 mcg daily. Maybe that will aid my conversion problems at any rate that dosage is unlikely to cause problems. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes?
