So I posted the other day that I really believe has positional

plagiocephaly and included some pictures and the doctor confirmed

that on Friday. But no matter how persistent I was she continued to

blow me off about the DOC band. Saying that neurologists don't

recommend it and of course more of it will round out. Doctors really

dont like it when you have done your own research, do they? I am so

frustrated. Here are my options, any input is appreciated. I called

Cranial Tech in ndale, VA and asked them if they recommended any

doctors in my area that are knowledgable about plagiocephaly and

referred patients to CT in the past. They gave me a name of a

pediatrician. So here are my options:

1. Make an appt with the pediatrician that CT recommended, wait for

the appt. see the doctor and get her opinion.

OR

2. Go to CT have them do the free consultation and have them send the

letter to my current pediatrician to hopefully get the RX but even if

they don't I will still have the recommendation from CT to take to

another pediatrician if necessary.

As everyone knows, time is important. Even CT said the sooner we get

him in the band (assuming they think it will benefit from it)the less

time he will spend in it and the more correction he will get. Thanks

in advance. I am so glad I found this group.

I'd go to CT and get the eval - have them send it over. If your ped still won't budge go to a new ped - or get a referral for a 2nd opinion from a Cranial Facial team.

Also, check on your insurance and see what bands, if any, are covered. That will help you start that ball rolling. At 4 months he is still young enough that it's not a "need to fix it Tomorrow" situation.
