Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your words of support! (Just to recap, I had a lap/hys on Tues). Today I had my post-op appointment. Of course it is too early to tell how everything went. I had the balloon catheter taken out and was told that everything looked fine(I was concerned bec I was having quite a bit of bleeding). Although the surgery went " well " the scarring was more pervasive and dense than he expected, and now I have to wait until my period and then another hsg to see what happens next (hopefully that is all!) There is also a possibility that some scarring is blocking my right tube (ugh), although the tube itself is fine. He did mention fertility treatment as a possibility after this is through (assuming enough lining, minimal remaining scarring, and one blocked tube), so we'll see. Does this often work? Also, I was not given antibiotics after the surgery and wonder whether this is very unusual. So far I feel fine and have no signs of infection, but it did seem a little strange (although he said it wasn't necessary). So my treatment now is 28 days of estrogen, with progesterone on days 19-28, which does seem more typical. If all is sucessful, I will add my doctor to the B-list. I know that he has experience treating AS successfully, and it would be nice to have a good option in the DC area. Thanks again for your good wishes. I'll keep you posted.... Guest guest
Joy, Thanks for your update. I noticed that your doctor did not prescribe any antibiotics to you after your surgery and was surprised especially after you said that you had the balloon inside you too. I hope this has not caused any infection. Now whether fertility treatment will work for you is really dependant upon your own circumstances. If you had no issues before AS, then you really don't have a problem with it working, provided your AS is cured. Poly
