I've written a note to the doc about some thing on my blood work...like the fact if she wrote off the low TIBC to antibodies (her notation) than she has to also say that my Ferritin was elevated because of same. (and it was only 34). But i've told her I have some concerns about taking iron in case I have any liver issues - and does she think a Liver Profile is appropriate. And I have also mentioned that I probably should have my B12 tested since my grandmother had pernicious anemia and I had that low TIBC. I should hear from her tomorrow I hope. I'm also concerned about taking iron tablets with malabsorption issues...and need to find out if there is liquid that might be more readily absorbed. Guest guest
Jamy, do you suppose that there is something about the sulphur end of the iron that does something xtra there? I've been wondering about this. So far, I don't need iron, but this is sort of a mystery worth looking into. Do you suppose that iron poor people with thyroid disease have a tendency to need this substance as well? Re: Ferritin again > > > I have seen many people try many different iron supplements and yet those of us that got the levels up quickly have all taken ferrous sulfate at 325 mg a pill and dosed 2x a day or 3x a day. Most people wait a year to see any improvement. You can go for shots, if you can afford it.
Guest guest
Try injections.. they work better and you don't have to worry about absorbtion issues. >From: nc2406@... >Reply-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >To: NaturalThyroidHormones >Subject: Re: Ferritin again >Date: Thu, 9 Dec 2004 10:57:50 EST >MIME-Version: 1.0 >X-Sender: NC2406@... >Received: from n5a.bulk.scd.yahoo.com ([66.94.237.39]) by >mc5-f28.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.6713); Thu, 9 Dec 2004 >09:11:42 -0800 >Received: from [66.218.69.3] by n5.bulk.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 09 Dec >2004 15:58:05 -0000 >Received: from [66.218.66.94] by mailer3.bulk.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 09 >Dec 2004 15:58:05 -0000 >Received: (qmail 88731 invoked from network); 9 Dec 2004 15:58:04 -0000 >Received: from unknown (66.218.66.172) by m1.grp.scd.yahoo.com with QMQP; >9 Dec 2004 15:58:04 -0000 >Received: from unknown (HELO imo-d21.mx.aol.com) (205.188.144.207) by >mta4.grp.scd.yahoo.com with SMTP; 9 Dec 2004 15:58:04 -0000 >Received: from NC2406@... imo-d21.mx.aol.com (mail_out_v37_r3.8.) id >r.9.39224e12 (18251) for <NaturalThyroidHormones >; Thu, 9 >Dec 2004 10:57:50 -0500 (EST) >X-Message-Info: JGTYoYF78jFVqbBtTw4GU2HZ5DjFqdNx >X-Yahoo-Newman-Property: groups-email >X-Apparently-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >X-Mailer: 8.0 for Windows sub 6033 >X-eGroups-Remote-IP: 205.188.144.207 >X-Yahoo-Profile: nc2406 >Mailing-List: list NaturalThyroidHormones ; contact >NaturalThyroidHormones-owner >Delivered-To: mailing list NaturalThyroidHormones >Precedence: bulk >List-Unsubscribe: ><mailto:NaturalThyroidHormones-unsubscribe > >Return-Path: >sentto-7991139-42075-1102607885-lacretiamo=hotmail.com@... >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 09 Dec 2004 17:11:43.0331 (UTC) >FILETIME=[27E4F330:01C4DE12] > > >Okay Jamy and Janie...the past couple of weeks I feel a bone >tiredness...this >is the low ferritin, right? >And here's the question....how long after supplementation do you start >getting rid of the fatigue. > >By the way, my tongue had been feeling sore for about two days...and i was >researching this...and guess what turns up? Guest guest
I wish that I knew. I take msm which is a sulphur. I added b5 yesterday vitamin c, but Bob had a thought about copper. What made you think in that direction? Here is what he sent me. Some other things too. I guess I need to remember that I almost died from hemmoraging with the birth of me son and they say that means something, yet my daughter has anemia issue too. Hi Jamy, Lack of copper can also cause anemia... Have you had a check for copper recently; deficiency symptoms listd as microcytic hypochromic anemia, leukopenia, hemorrhagic vascular changes, bone demineralisation, hypercholesterolemia, and neurological problems. Hypoxia from something like hypopituitary adrenalism likewise causes lack of 'puff', after walking a block. Both iron and copper are needed to get iron into the body along with ascorbic acid (vit C). The other route is via red meats containing haem, for which there is another transporter in the lining of the gut. Best wishes Bob (CTNMQ) > >Reply-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >To: <NaturalThyroidHormones > >Subject: Re: Ferritin again >Date: Fri, 10 Dec 2004 08:31:32 -0600 >
