Guest guest
Hello Everyone! My son goes this Wednesday for casting. Do I talk to the orthotist about decorating? Or does anyone have any ideas, websites to make this easier. is turning 4 months old, and this is his first helmet. The ped. said that there will be looks and stares which I expect. But any advice, would be appreciated. Tequisha tequisha_w@... Messenger with Voice. Make PC-to-Phone Calls to the US (and 30+ countries) for 2¢/min or less. Guest guest
In the Files section there is a great section with decorating tips: Plagiocephaly/files/Decorating%20Tips%20/ If you are getting a STARband or Hanger Band you can order them in different colours and/or with patterns on them (http://www.orthomerica.com/pdf/transferguide.pdf). I would highly recommend getting stickers so you can put your child's name across the front of the band; it makes it more user friendly and less "institutional" looking :>) It also tends to break the ice when people are staring at your child and they can address your child by name. Guest guest
Here is my plan. I have a wholesale greeting card and scrapbook embellishment company. My products are felt based. So I will be taking my embellishments, adding velcro to the back of the felt piece and a piece of velcro to the helmet. That way I can change out the embellishments everyday if I feel like it. Also I'll spray paint the helmet a solid color that is bright and fun and then work from there. I am working on my 2007 embellishment catalog right now and it will be ready by the end of the week if any one would like to see it. I have attached a jpeg of some Christmas embellishments as an example in case this doesn't make any sense. Anyway just an idea for others - you could use foam or felt to cut out designs and attach with velcro. Or let me know if you want to view the catalog - I think most of the designs would work, not all of them but most! Guest guest
For boy decorating ideas, I've posted pics of Logan's bands under the photo section here. " Boy DOC Band sticker ideas, " and they're all clear backed Sandylion stickers, from simplystickers.com and stickersgalore.com. The letters are Susy Ratto Brush Letters by Stikopotamus, also from the same sites. Good Luck decorating, and have fun with it!!! Guest guest
Becca, Call around to places that wrap cars. I just had my sons helmet wrapped with a superman design and it looks awesome. I had heard of a place 360 wraps in Dallas that did it so I googled car/vehicle wrapping in VA (my area) and called them. They had never done it but agreed to give it a try. The people at Cranial Technologies loved it when he went for his appt today. They hadn’t seen anything like it. Good luck

Guest guest
Hi. I am in Tulsa, too, and will be getting a band in a few weeks. Where did you go? Guest guest
I have been getting the stickers from Walmart but they dont seem to stay on too well.
