Newbie with a question about sweets.........

I was just wondering if anyone who has had the surgery.....when you

get a kankering for something sweet........have you ever tried those

little tiny mint/fruit things in the checkout lane at the grocery

store....they are sugar free and are sweet....Like the Orange Blitz

and the Fruit Smints? They are made with sorbital and the smints

say if you eat alot of them then they will have a laxative effect.

I was just wondering......I am scheduled for surgery on 7/29/03 and

getting mixed emotions....happy, scared, upset, excited.....I feel

like I am pregnant again.........Oh Dear Lord...Help me...LOL

Welcome to the group . I'm sure you'll find a lot of great info

and wonderful friends here.

I occassionally pop a mint or sugarfree hard candy if I need to

moisten my mouth or just want a little sweet. Generally all it takes

is one to satisfy my need so I have never had enough to get the

laxative effect.

Sugarless gum can have this effect too Just be careful with sugar

alcohols as we can still dump from these!

Thanks for all your help from everybody.....I am doing this for my

son and Keep that in mind everyday.....and Wolfie....I would LOVE to

meet a wonderful man......that would be icing on the cake~!!!!!
