I always smell stuff minutes before anyone else. At work I said I smell burning electric...They laughed. About three minutes later we started to see smoke. It was wiring in the ceiling/attic to the air conditioner and was caught before there was any damage. Now they don't laugh. When I smell stuff they check it out. Guess that is just one more way we are all differnt. Guest guest Posted April 16, 2005 Report Share Posted April 16, 2005 I have to jump in here. My hearing used to be very good, but has deteriorated in the last 5-6 years. My sense of smell has always been extremely good. Like Ronnie, I would smell the fire, or smoke, before anyone else and would tell the staff to pull the Fire Alarm. They didn't the first few times and we had a fire in the building. They started pulling the alarm after that. This has also driven some of my friends nuts. They can't smell anything and I want to leave the area because the smell is overwhelming to me. I have always been this way, so I don't believe it is associated with PLS.
