Guest guest
>>What is wrong with me?! I've struggled with this awful fatigue and so many symptoms for all of my adult life...<< Put these two sentences together and you have answered your own question. Being hypothyroid for years has it's own set of symptoms and problems! Like poor T3 conversion, and resistance to normal amounts of thyroid meds. Part of it is just I think the receptors shut down for lack of use after a while. Your body tries to adjust to the lower hormones and it will take longer to feel well ( & WAY more meds) than a person that is first diagnoses & treated right away. I have been on Armour straight for 6 years now and am still seeing a slow improvement, but it is very slow the remaining symptoms I have. The first year was miraculous and then it has been steadily getting better since then, but still not completely resolved. I went 25 years on none & Synthroid which is like none to me. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Although I did feel better the first two weeks, that didn't last. It was up and down for quite a while. I think what happens is that the body is so hungry for thyroid hormone that some parts of the body just grab on to it leaving other parts still without...and then eventually everything just sorta starts to balance out. But do expect ups and downs...but just don't lose faith. Knowing you're on the right path is something that has kept me going...knowing my body was in a healing mode. It's hard to look ahead a year in the future...but healing is a journey. Keep the faith...and when you're feeling low, there's always someone here to let you know it's gonna work out. These ladies kept me going...and still do. Cindi
Guest guest
Thank you for your response, . It helps to know that you had dramatic improvement the first year. To be honest, I don't think I even know what feeling " good " (much less " great " ) feels like...but I'm hoping to experience it for myself. ~~ > >>What is wrong with me?! > I've struggled with this awful fatigue and so many symptoms for all of > my adult life...<< > > Put these two sentences together and you have answered your own question. Guest guest
Hi Cindi...thank you for sharing your experience with me. I knew going in that things would take time, in fact, my doctor warned me that healing could take quite a while because of the length of time I went untreated. But I seem to have had such a slow start to seeing improvement as opposed to so many others who feel better right away. Hopefully the next increase will be more helpful. It helps to know that others here are feeling better even while healing continues. ~~ > yes, things will get better. it does take time. sometimes some trial and > error. and sometimes fixing other things along the way that got messed up with > the hypo. > > I've been taking Armour for about 9 months...and in many ways, feel better > than I have during the last 10 years.
