LOL Speed gives a jolt, so does Cocaine, but thyroid is a steady climb. It often takes 4-6 weeks to feel temperature changes from the thyroid meds. That is because it is a hormone not drug, and must act on other things in the body and get to places that it takes time to do. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
When I first started on Synthroid, it took 7 weeks before I felt about 50% better, fatigued wise. It never did " clear " my brain fog! I still have this. In the mean time, while on Synthroid only, I had several times gotten stick at my stomach, thought I was getting Osteoporosis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, etc. I think I am worst off now then I was before I started on any medication! Guest guest
>>I think I am worst off now then I was before I started on any medication<< It is probably that your low T3 has not been treated. Many of us that have been hypo for long term and undertreated with Synthroid do not convert well so it takes direct T3 to feel normal. For most this is permanent, and Armour with it's T3 should be continued for life. Artistic Grooming Hurricane, West Virginia --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. If i increase by half a grain [which i no longer do] i find that after 3-4 days i feel palps etc and have to cut back to a quarter but its not something taht happens instantly -- Alison http://www.alisonashwell.com new work uploaded http://www.artwanted/alisonashwell
Guest guest
I've felt that way, too. None of it makes any sense to me. Guest guest
yeah, but it seems to be like digging for gold to get Armour!! I am now going from Dr. to Dr. to try and find one that will prescribe it for me. I would self medicate, but it seems that no one is getting it. I don't want generic. I just don't understand why Dr's will not give this to us, what is the big deal?? Guest guest
You may have to settle for generic. I take generic with no problems at all.. still MUCH better than Synthroid. I have only had three doctors out of about 30 that have prescribed Armour for me and two of those only because I told them I was already on it and would not TAKE Synthroid! Guest guest
Is the generic still natural, but has fillers? If you are doing well on it, then it must be ok. Guest guest
All thyroid has fillers. They need to have to make the pills stick together. Nature Thyroid actually is advertised as hypoallergenic as the fillers used in it are not known to cause allergies. Most folks do not have problems with the fillers in Armour. I do not have food allergies so any of them is fine for me. You need to find the ingredient list and see if you have had any problems with the fillers in that particular generic. The generics for Armour are still natural thyroid containing all the same thyroid hormones in Armour. Artistic Grooming Hurricane, West Virginia --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
So, you are saying that the generic product is just as effective as Armour?? I'm not allergic to anything. I seen where Doreen had paid much more from PrescriptionWorks. Is this still the only and best place to order it from? I just want some as soon as possible, no matter what the cost! I'm getting desperate here! Kathy Re: I increased my dose All thyroid has fillers. They need to have to make the pills stick together. Guest guest
Thanks Lynda, I was just on the medicapharma site and couldn't figure out why I couldn't find Armour. So, Thyroid S is just like Armour, but generic? Which is the best to order? Thanks again, Kathy Re: I increased my dose So, you are saying that the generic product is just as effective as Armour?? Guest guest
Kathy, If you are in the US I would go with anti-aging systems. They won't supply to the UK so I can't order from them but I know some people who are in the US and they have had good service.
