it occurs to me to mention...because several folks have mentioned that they

have ringing in the ears...that impacted ear wax can cause that.

since we were recently posting about how several of us have had to have our

ears flushed at the doctors..I just wanted to mention to those of you with

ringing in the ears to have your doc check for impacted ear wax.

the wax can build up so slowly that you don't know it's happened..unless you

have a symptom - like ringing in the ears or hear loss.

Reading your post reminded me that when I was hypo, I had ringing in

my ears. It drove me nuts.

Wish it had been that simple, but it wasn't. My ears have been slightly

flushed several times, but both doctors said that there was a very minimal

amt in my ears, every time. Mine is going to be damage to parts of the

inner ear and God knows what else, as I never had an MRI done on my head. I

believe it is autoimmune damage. The perforated bone, and the labyrinth and

all that.

my mom actually had two or three surgeries that I know were just things

related to her undiagnosed Hashimoto's. She had the TMJ surgery (replacing the

disks)..but when she was in her last 30s/early 40s...she had a surgery to remove

bone from the styloid (somewhere near the ear) because they told her that was

causing the pain...and later had another one related to the styloid process.

Needless to say, none of these major surgeries ever helped her ear pain.
