Guest guest
taking 60 mg. of generic Armour and I ache in my muscles, my feet, joints in hands/wrist, my hips and bottom. I'm working on increasing the Armour but what can I do for this? Are there any supplements I can take to help with this pain? Is this another reminder that I'm undermedicated? Thanks, Molly
Guest guest
Hi Molly, I have all those same aches/pains...the worst of all is in my low back & hands/fingers/thumb joints. I have to take Rx Darvocet for the pain tho as I also have severe DDD, congential scoliosis, severe spondylitis, severe arthritis & severe osteopenia of 40 years duration & getting worse as I age. So doubt even thyroid supplementation will take all my chronic pain away. That would take another kind of rejuvenating miracle I'm sure. Of all the nutritional supplemental things I've taken so far that relieves the pain, is coral calcium from Kingsway. I'm not currently taking it tho....too expensive. Detoxing the body & eating an all-alkaline diet is necessary too...that relieves tremendous amounts of pain in a few weeks...especially with enemas (garlic or coffee) or a liver cleanse. That's the hardest part for me. The B-complex super stress vitamins help too & some other vitamin/mineral/amino acid supplements I'm also on. But not sure which ones by themselves would be the greatest help. I seem to need ALL of them working together. The generic Armour at l 3/4 grains per day is helping moreso now tho I've noticed. So that's a MUST for me to keep increasing gradually. I'm hoping I can reduce the Rx Darvocet gradually too & stop taking it altogether one day or keep it to the barest minimum. Just my experience. Hope this helps some. Caroline Aches & pains (not flu) - What do I do to relieve them? Guest guest
I was diagnosed last year with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. They have a name for it, but no cure for it. I knew deep down in my soul that there was more to it than just a name of a syndrome. Because of this board I have been taking Armour. Atlthough I'm not 100%.... not really sure if I ever will be, but things are a little better. Right now I'm on 2gr of Armour. I've been on it just over a week. Right now it's raining out and very damp... ordinarily I would be in bed doped up on pain meds. I ache, and I'm sore, and I'm tired, but I definitely see improvement. There are a number of schools of thought that fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue are untreated or undertreated hypoT. I'm not sure if that is accurate or not, but I do believe they are intertwined. Hugs, Tigger Re: Aches & pains (not flu) - What do I do to relieve them? I am Molly, This was one of my main complaints. I'm happy to say after I was on Armour for 2 months... I was vertially pain free.... with only few flair ups here and there. I was popping Ibuprofen in large quantities. I don't suggest it as my chiro says it does liver damage which I didn't know. One thing I've found is Epson Salt baths. Bathe in the salt, making paste where the pain is. It's made of magnesium which I'm low in. It should be helping me to sleep. Stretches. Isn't it called Pialetes? I know I misspelled it! It made since when I read about fibromyalgia symptoms. The muscles contract, but won't release. Giving your muscles a good stretch should release some toxins and release the contraction. Hang in there... those were all the same place I was aching. Armour is the inevitable answer. Guest guest
Yes, it may be undermedication, but I've been doing a LOT of reading about something else lately, mostly as related to Mitral Valve Prolapse, but it also applied to a lot of us, I could bet. Do you have any idea whether you're consuming enough magnesium or not? Right now, I am reading article after article on this, and low magnesium is very involved with fibromyalgia, a.k.a., thyroid disease. There is a very big push to take lots and lots of calcium right now, but when we do this and don't also supplement with 1/2 that amt of magnesium, we are doing in our bones, heart, and connective tissues. I just started taking a separate mag supp, along with some xtra niacin (which isn't in my general supp for some strange reason! I just discovered!). We have to have the balance, or we don't heal as well as we should. Aches & pains (not flu) - What do I do to relieve them? Guest guest
I read about the necessity of taking magnesium with calcium years ago....and phosphorous too. Also vitamin D is necessary for calcium absorption. That's the sunshine vitamin. We cannot assimilate calcium without the vitamin D or phophorous either. Since I discovered that I've always taken a liquid calcium-magnesium-phosphorous-vitamin D formula. Another thing is that it should be taken on an empty stomach at night before bedtime. My chiropractor told me that this year in fact. The label on the bottle of the formula I have says to take it with food. So I was taking it with breakfast. Every night I'd be getting muscle spams in my neck & upper back & shoulders that was going into my arms & hands & misaligning the joints, causing more horrible pain & more chiro visits. After I started taking it at bedtime on an empty stomach that cleared up in two days. So I know I'm taking it correctly now. But the other thing I learned about bones & calclium is that we need a certain amount of direct sunlight into our eyes & onto our skin every day for calcium to assimilate & work properly too. Some experts say we need as much as 2 hours in the sun daily without any sunglasses on. Others say 20-30 minutes is enough. But all agree it's needed. It's the full rainbow spectrum light we need. Also all the phytonutrients (full rainbrow spectrum/colors) from our food every day. I'm not one who gets enough direct or indirect sun on me during the winter months so I bought a sun lamp & full spectrum light bulbs for my home which help but aren't the same or as effective as full spectrum outdoor sunshine. I used to be a sun worshipper in the summer but aren't anymore because there's no place for me to sunbathe where I'm now living. But in the Spring & Summer I do get outside in the sun or shade for up to 2 hours per day mostly in my yard/garden. I've noticed since I couldn't work out there due to injuries this Spring/Summer, I've felt worse & worse. Now it's winter & I still need the sun & can't get any...too cold or rainy outside now. My bones problems have worsened considerably to the point of severe osteopenia now from not enough of all this. But taking the cal-mag-phos-D formula at not without food has helped definitely. I know it's still not enough though. I need the sunshine. But the sun & full spectrum light plus magnsium & phosphorous are all necessary for proper assimilation & absorption of calcium. Without those....it doesn't work. Caroline Re: Aches & pains (not flu) - What do I do to relieve them?
