forget dosing by the TSH. it means nothing. how are your symptoms...and how

much Armour are you on?

I have been reading the messages in this group for sometime. I just

finally got to see a new doc and she did my lab work again.

TSH 0.069

T4 10.6

T3 32

Free thyroxine index 3.4

She said my prescripton amount of Armour is too high. My TSH is low

and so I am getting too much thyroid.

Now I have been taking my temperature and pulse for a while now too.

Temp is hovering around 97.4 and pulse is always around 65.

So something is amiss. My regular doc wants my to go see and Endo but

I thing I trust the information here more than the doc.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

TSH can be low for other reasons - beingn hypo for a longtime affects

the pituitary also there are many things which affect the

pituitary/hypothalamus axis and this ca\n mean that the TSH is

completely unconnected to the level of free thyroid hormones in circualtion.

You need the free T3 and freet4 done before anything can be considered

about your dose of Armour

Kate you have the same symptoms I had with the low temperature and

low pulse. My TSH was 0.04. My doctors just went by my TSH to treat

me. So guess what????They would not give me any t4 meds so I had to

order my Armour.

Depression can also suppress the TSH. I started on Armour Nov. 1st

this month and I am feeling wonderful. I am losing weight,

temperature has gone up to around 98.1 to 98.6.

I believe there are many people that are being undertreated. If you

have a good doctor that will LISTEN to your symptoms then stick with

the doc.

You need the Free T3 and Free T4 because the tests you had don't tell

anything about your thyroid, and what it is putting out, available for use

by your body. The Frees.
