Guest guest
I'm not sure what's going on, but I think either the overdosing I did the other day is still a problem (which I don't think is the case) or...... Generic Armour isn't working as well for me as the name brand did. Now, I've been on 3 1/2 grains for a while. Maybe I just need to up the dose, but today, I was so exhausted after sleeping 9 hours last night, that I couldn't keep my eyes open, and had to take a nap. I hadn't even eaten anything so the sleepiness wasn't turkey induced. heheh. I know back in Oct, I went from 3 to 3 1/2 grains. Should I go ahead and up it another 1/2 grain? I don't do 1/4 dosages so if I go upwards, it will be 1/2 grain. SandyE~Houston
Guest guest
Hi Sandy! Why wouldn't you up with a quart grain? Probably get yourself a pil- splitter? Once you're close to your optimum level, better go slow! What was your most recent labwork? Has generic Armour the same ratio of T3 and T4 as the name brand? And why did you switch? Take care, Margreet. > I'm not sure what's going on, but I think either the overdosing I did the other day is still a problem (which I don't think is the case) or...... > > Generic Armour isn't working as well for me as the name brand did. Guest guest
Yes I agree, it's much better to dose by symptoms. I had to learn the hard way .... I'm not sure if I understand your answer regarding upping with a quart grain. Does generic Armour not have quarts? Anyway, you know best what works for you... ;-) Margreet. > > I'm not sure what's going on, but I think either the overdosing I > did the other day is still a problem (which I don't think is the > case) or...... > > > > Generic Armour isn't working as well for me as the name brand > did. Guest guest
I don't mess with 1/4 grains at all. I will split a pill once and it works just fine for me. No reason to do the 1/4's for me. I also don't mess with labs. I go by symptoms alone. SandyE~Houston Re: Generic Armour Hi Sandy! Why wouldn't you up with a quart grain? UNTIL I got a little hyper and decided 1/4 increases after 3 grains as Janie recommends were a GOOD thing. Be forewarned. Cindi
Guest guest
what I am saying is I never raise Armour by 1/4 grain. That only teases my thyroid issues, so it's not worth it to me to go that route. For people who are scared to self medicate, 1/4 is great. It doesn't work for me, so therefore I don't mess with it. Guest guest
Try it and see! The worse that can happen is you'll get a little hyper, and then you can eliminate thyroid as the cause. Guest guest
I think the holiday stress and commotion is likely to cause some of us to relapse into hypo even on our usual dosages that were working fine. I know i have had some hypo feelings this past week and have required WAY more slep than usual and I had nothing extra on the holiday itself, but have been stressed with work and maybe my lack of holiday celebrations. I know it depressed me worse this year than usual... can't wait for Xmas... UGH! Artistic Grooming Hurricane, West Virginia --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
