Guest guest
Just a different opinion here. I took Armour and had a horrible reaction to it. I chose Levoxyl because it's gluten and lactose free and I am doing much better on it. But I know everybody is different. Dee
Guest guest
Well, I was bound and determined to make Armour work for me. I was on many doses over a course of a year and a half and my " horrible reaction " is hard to explain but I just felt rotten....depressed....wanted to die. I stopped taking it one day and immediately felt so much better. I know Armour is better than the synthetics and wish it would have worked for me. I must have been allergic to one of the fillers in it??
Guest guest
can you please define your 'horrible reaction' on Armour? SandyE~Houston Re: Re: levoxyl Just a different opinion here. Guest guest
Hi there Mike, I remember responding to you and more people have, to your previous post 'Armour Thyroid'. Have you checked that one? I'm asking, since you are introducing yourself for the 2nd time..... (go to message 39880 Mon 11/22/2004. And have you checked the answer regarding your question for Endocrinologists? ( message 39931). And to answer your question again ;-)....... I would encourage you to order Armour online and ask for people's support overhere for a smooth transition! How I would approach it: Slowly add Armour while reducing your synthetic med step by step. It takes several months to find your optimal dose! Take care, Margreet. > > HI, i'm new here. Guest guest
just curious. Did the dr ever test ferritin levels or adrenals? Most people who don't do well on Armour have other things such as the two i just mentioned. Too much or not enuff will also not help with symptoms, although I've never heard of it causing somebody to feel badly. T3 is actually what helps our moods? Guest guest
Don't feel bad, Mike. I didn't get any posts for a while either. Wonder why. Well, I'm just glad they did start. So much to learn. But you'll get lots of help and info here. Kate Re: Re: levoxyl hi, no i haven't checked it. i wasn't aware that anyone responded to it. For some reason i didn't start getting posts in my e-mail until yesterday or the day before. I'll check it now though. i'm still trying to find my way around this whole message board thing. Thanks for your advice though.
Guest guest
Hi Dee, I hear what you're saying! If I would have a choice, I would try Naturethroid which has no fillers or binders in it. I'm not sure if I can get it, since I live in Holland. May I ask how much Armour you took and for how long have you tried it? You may also have reacted bad to the T3, especially if you were hypothyroid for a long time...... Margreet. > Just a different opinion here. I took Armour and had a horrible reaction to > it.
