Guest guest
Sounds like you need to increase that dosage and fast! This often happens when the doctors put people on a really low starting dosage and LEAVE them there. You should have been increasing every 2-4 weeks at least and really not stayed this low for 12 weeks. You are very hypo now and will not be feeling good till you get that TSH suppressed again and your free levels up much higher. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
now, since you mentioned hyper....... What all symptoms are we speaking of? Many people who found themselves being treated for hyper when I was do tend to think that some symtoms were hyper, but are not. They have many similar symptoms with some seeming to overlap. It's hard at first to really know which is which. I remember how confusing it was at first because I was one of the 'unfortunate' few who didn't really lose weight but gained it when hyperT/Graves. I stayed confused for quite some time because of that one issue. NO doubt in my mind now that I was hypo before the Graves kicked in and sent me into overdrive. It took me being overmedicated and becoming hypo because of that overmedication to learn what hypo symptoms really meant for me. Breathlessness is a hyper and hypo symptom. I find a lot of people who don't realize that. Armour will work if you're only having problems with hypoT, in my opinion, but dr's tend to want to dose it the way they do with synthetic T4. I think if you have underlying problems like adrenals or low ferritin, those can make you think that you're more hypo than you really are, and should be addressed. If you suspect that a dosage is too much for you, back down a bit, maybe 1/2 grain, and see how you feel. I have done this all the way through the self medicating. Hyper symptoms that will help to discern if you are having those, will be a high resting pulse......and your hands will shake. To tell if the hands are shaking, stretch them out straight, and put a piece of 8x11 paper across the hand. You'll be able to see the trembling. Those are the only two I can think of right now other than having to go to the bathroom constantly during the day (8 times or more). When I recently this week took too much armour because I'd forgotten I'd ordered 3 grain tablets, I ran to the bathroom the entire day! I was on definate overload and felt like my insides were mush! It was like I was literally shaking on the inside, and too tired to do anything to wear off the 'jittery' feeling. Guest guest
First of all, calm down! Yes, your TSH is high, but you've got some hormone floating around there. Your T3 is low, but not oh-my-god-I'm-dying low. Your T4 is quite low, because one grain of Armour doesn't come CLOSE to what you need! So - what you need is a higher dose of Armour. And you'll need to keep increasing - slowly! - until your FT3 and FT4 are right for YOU! Laurie Scasring myself now!! I am scaring myself now.Doctors office just called me.....I am on dessicated thyroid meds 60mgs.I switched from levothyroxine 125 mgs almost 12 weeks ago.My last bloodwork showed I do not have the right numbers just trying to remember that my TSH 2.5 my T3 an T4 were on the high side as was my free T4 and T3 .I just got a call that my TSH IS 99.44 range is .35-5.0 T3 is .71 range is .89-2.44 T4 is 29.6 range is 63-151 Trying to breathe right now because of panic. My doctor does not understand tthis med. at all.So I am asking you people for advice now. What is my next step.....What should I have him do???Going to see him later today....Betty
Guest guest
Laurie...Thank-you.I knew I would go low after switching from just t4 meds but not that low.Slowly seems to be the answer.
