Guest guest
I chose the DOCband. There was no question in my mind from the start as to which helmet to go with. It's the only helmet that is FDA approved and although people have had problems with it, it seems like there have been more serious problems with the other helmets as to them not fitting and sliding around..things like that. Their employees go through extensive training as well, compared to the other places. I like that they take a mold rather than a scan. The pediatric plastic surgeon that we saw was very good and well known, and she walked me through all of the companies in order of which one she wanted my son to go with, and the top of the list was cranial tech. She said that the only reason that I should go to the other ones was if insurance didnt cover it and we couldnt afford it. So, thats why we chose the DOCband. I don't want to knock the other helmets though....DOCband has drawbacks and there are TONS of success stories with all of the other bands as well. So it's really a personal choice. The thing that put me over the top was the FDA approval and the ped's suggestions. Well he gets the band on wednesday so ill let you all know how the first few days go! , mom to Tyson Chicago, IL > > > > Hi, I am new to this group and have tons of questions! > > When my son was around 4 mths old, I noticed that his head was > > slightly flat on one side.
