Hi all,

I'm Terri and have posted on here before. I am the one who delivered my

daughter prematurely on Dec. 31st when I was 23 weeks pregnant. I had my RNY

Feb. 2001. I got preg in Aug. 2001. Then I had my gallbladder removed and

hernia repaired in Feb. 2002. Then, I was having pain on my left side under

my ribs. Well, I went to see my gastric bypass surgeon and he said my pouch

is fine. He looked at the pics of my endoscopy that my gastroenterologist

did and also my upper GI films. He said he thought my pain was from eating

too much or too fast. Both of which I do tend to do on occasion. Since then,

I have not had the pain very often and when I do, I have either overdone it

or I try to drink lots after I eat, or while I eat. That is when I get the

pain. So, I know how to fix that. That was good news. My gastro doc was

thinking I had a prob with my pouch. Not sure if you all remember that whole

thing but anyone, the gastro doc was wrong. My gastric bypass surgeon said

that the gastro doc probably was not real experienced in doing endoscopies

on folks who have had WLS. So.....there is my update.

Now a question for all of you who have lost alot of weight. I have lost

about 131 pounds now and I noticed that my tailbone is killing me. It hurts

whenever I sit.....regardless if its the car, at my desk, the gym bleachers,

at the table, even in the soft comfy recliner. Do any of you have this

problem and if so, what can we do about it?? Anything to cushion does not

even seem to help. HELP.....I am in pain here.

Hugs

Ladies, the only suggestion I have is to wear tight jeans! LOL!

Really it just takes time for your poor hip bones to adjust

to " feeling " less padding. The cause is that you have lost so much

weight that your hip bones don't have the padding that you used to

have. When you sit, the skin is so loose that the muscle is spread

and therefore, even less padding. Time will help, but not cure! I

still (at over 2 yrs out and 200 lbs gone) have to watch out for the

harder chairs. It will get better.

Love,

Reba

I experienced tailbone pain this for about two months during my first year.

I couldn't sit on the subway at all, or had to sit with my hand under my

bottom. It also caused bad back aches, and a saw a chiropractor for a

while. But my body has adjusted, and until you wrote, I forgot all about

it. Our bodies do an amazing job of adjusting to our new weights over time!

A TushCush does help- it's portable so you can take it with you

wherever you go. I bought mine online at www.vitalityweb.com

They come in two different sizes- I got the smaller so that I could

cart it around with me to movies, doctor's office, and such.

I fell a few years ago and when I went to the ER, they

did xrays and found out I had broken my tailbone

(coccyx, I think it's called). When I asked what to

do, the doc told me to just go home and not sit down

as much as possible, and when I did, not to sit back

against anything. He said I could take Tylenol for it,

but that there really wasn;t any other treatment.

WhenI asked why, he looked at me VERY serioulsy and

said " Well, Michele, we really can't put your ass in a

sling, now can we?? "
