Guest guest
This topic is new to me, but my son of almost 7 months has significant plagiocephaly. He has had it since birth, but his physician said that his flat spot would get better when he started to roll over. The spot has gradually gotten worse. I didn't accept that answer. 3 months ago I went around my doctor to a Peds PT, who also happens to be a personal friend, for help. My son was also suffering from tort, but thankfully through many different stretching exercises his tort is much better. I took him to an Orthotics Center for a scan. My son's cranial scan measures 6.9 mm. He is a candidate for the cranial band. Is there anyone who can give me some advise positive/negative from a parent that is going through the process or has gone through the process? My husband and I are trying to decided upon the next step. Our insurance does not cover the band unless his measure was greater than 10mm. Money really isn't the issue when it comes to his health, but at the same time is. We'll take whatever step is necessary. We would just like some input.
