I used to cook. I even used to make good things sometimes. In fact, I even won the Betty Crocker Homemaker award when I was a senior in high school. (Don't laugh... It's true.) Lately, however, if my rapidly declining domestic habits didn't have me committed, my cooking or lack thereof would place me in the cell next to Martha's. Now here's the fudge hint. Last week folks picked me up for the staff party for the folks at work. We do a Yankee Swap and also do a cookie swap. Well, the Martha in me wanted to do all of the baking that I usually do but the Barbara in me won out. I had been at Walmart and on a whim I purchased two boxes of this inexpensive stuff called Decadent Fudge, Fudge Decadence or something like that's made by some place that starts with an E. Anyway, it had chocolate chips in the box, sweetened condensed milk, a little pouch of vanilla extract, and a packet of walnuts. All you

had to do was add a little butter and zap all of the stuff and then stir it for a few seconds until it all blended together. No prob. I can do that.

Anyway, so I zapped and stirred, threw it in the fridge, cut it up and wrapped it all pretty. I knew enough not to leave it in the tiny little aluminum coverd pans that they had included in the box. However, I thought "Man, I'm deadmeat. How can this mess possibly turn out the least bit decadent? The folks at work are going to be disappointed, think that I'm incompetent and have gone way down hill and decide that I should never return to work." Well, I was wrong. The stuff was great and everyone wanted the recipe. Desperately needing to rest on my decadent laurels for just a few more days, I refrained from sharing my source and just promised that I would send each of them a copy of it later once I got home. (Well, I was really too tired to write it all down at the point. I also never really came right out and said that I made it was from scratch. I

just said "Oh. It's really easy !" Honest.)

Sooooooooooo. If you want to make fudge? Go to Walmart. Love ya ! Barbara
