Guest guest
I have noticed several folks complaining about abdominal pain. I have had a lot of problems with the same thing. This is what I found about about me. I have very very very bad pain 2 to 3 hours after I eat Beef or Pork. At first GI Doc thought it may be Gallbladder, and the only way to rule it out was to take it out. After removal of my Gallbladder I still had problems with the pain. I get a referral to a Dr in Dallas, I live in Little Rock, and he says it is Biliary Diskensia (properly spelled wrong). There is a surgery for it with a 45% success rate. Since I can control the pain by not eating any meat or pork I turned down the offer of surgery. Biliary Diskensia is a malformation of the sphincter the releases bile into the bowel. The fat and the difficulty the bowel has in processing the meat causes the Pancreas to release a ton of bile and the sphincter is not opening causing this bile to back up. That is how I understand it, I am sure someone can find a lot more exact description out there on the web. Recently my GI Dr informed me that they have perfected the procedure, but I don't want another abdominal surgery if I can help it.
Guest guest
Also, my regular doctor is sending me to Dr Dodd in Woodstock because of all the problems I've been having swallowing and the acid thing in my stomach and the pain. He wants to rule out Esophageal Cancer like my father and one brother had. He said because of my family history with cancer, he wants to make sure there's nothing going on in there and said it's probably all nerves and stress with everything going on but he just wants to make sure so I get to have one of those glorious down the throat scopes done. I wonder if they still have to knock you out to do that? Well that's about it for now..all I can remember anyway..Hope all of you are having a very low pain day and know you're all in my thoughts. Gentle Hugs, ~Chrissy~ Chrissy, I had a endoscopy just a couple of years ago and they do knock you out. I also have to go back to the gastointernologist on the 19th of January. I am having an awful time with acid on my stomach and lately it has gotten much worse. When I bend down and bile will come back up my throat. They are going to keep an eye on me too, because my stomach problems are the same as my Mother and she died 3 years ago of small bowel cancer, which I guess is rare usually it starts out somewhere else. So I will probably have another one, it depends on your tolerance to sedatives, some people remain somewhat awake, I didn't the last thing I heard my doctor say was now this may make you a little drowsy. Woke up and then I was sent home, I am on 2 prevacids a day 1 in the morning and 1 at bedtime. I was only taking 1 in the morning and would wake up coughing up bile, that's how I ended up with aspiration pneumonia. Hope you are having a low pain day.
