i don't really know the length and width measurment of the fibroid,

but it weighed almost 14 pounds. the doctor said he would attempt a

myomectomy, but evidently he was unable to just remove the fibroid.

Hi Renata,

Everything happens for a reason so the main point of all of this is that you are

healthy and fibroid free..Do not dwell on the past, just think of the bright

future you have ahead of you ..

God Bless and Speedy Recovery!

Greetings,

I just joined this group last night and it's all new to me. I'm 40,

with no children, and coming to terms with infertility.

I had a laparoscopy two weeks ago and they discovered 3 or 4 fibroids on

my uterus. Because I'd still like to have a child, my next step is a

Clomid Challenge test to determine if I could even possibly conceive.

If I COULD conceive, my Dr. is suggesting having the fibroids

surgically removed to increase my chances of conceiving. She said that

If I don't have the surgery and happen to get pregnant, the hormones

from the pregnancy would cause the fibroids to grow dramatically and

which would result in needing to have the fibroids surgically removed

while pregnant. This would be riskier and may result in loss of

pregnancy. I don't know all the names of the various types of surgery,

however my Doctor said it would involve a bikini line incision and then

cutting the fibroids out of my uterus. My Doctor maintains the fibroids

could be a possible cause of the infertility.

Has anyone had a similar situation and managed to conceive (for the

first time) after fibroid surgery? If it's hopeless to conceive anyway,

I'd rather avoid the surgery and hope the fibroids diminish w/

menopause.

Worried about

surgery tomorrow. They are taking precautions so the RSD won't spread but you

never know about this disease. So far it's been very slowly spreading. Just

can't walk much anymore. Well enuff from me.

Take care,

Luv Laurie

Laurie,

I will keep you in my prayers. I know with this disease it seems to have a mind of it's own and that makes even the most routine procedure a bit of a problem, I will continue to pray that this monster will continue to spread slowly if at all.

take care and if I don't get a chance to say this before,

I pray that you have a wonderful Holiday.

I am curious about your shoulder. I have been having problems with my

right shoulder and elbow. Lotsa times it is excruciating and other

times it just aches. The clinic I go to said it was bursitis but is

it supposed to last 7 months. They put me on Ibuprofen and range of

motion exercises(which makes it worse for a day or so).

Lois,

After three months of pain and not being able to pick up anything or

even laying on my right side. I just couldn't take the pain anymore

and went to the ER. He thought it was carpal tunnel syndrome, but

since I don't have insurance and I dont' work. I go the local Indian

health center since I am a registered member of a tribe. They

thought it was a torn rotator cuff, then another visit..the pa

thought it might be in my head...then another visit..this time to my

diabetic dr who said it was tendonitis in my elbow and shoulder.

Then another visit with another pa..she said it was bursitis but

they dont' usually see that in patients my age(42). My son has a

social worker with the child welfare because I put him on medicaid

and we receive FS, too. She said I qualified for medicaid. I don't

see how I qualified but she made the argument since I seem not to be

able to do the mundane things around the house without help that it

would be beneficial to me to see a " real " dr. I hope to see a

orthopedist in May. I will request one. This pain is sometimes

bearable, but alot of times it isn't. I have the key board on my

knees so I am able to type. If it was in another position like on

the desk. No way I could make it without cringing.

Thanks

I get bursitis in my hips and have a marvelous dr who injects into the bursa

with a lidocaine type med mixed with a steroid med. It makes such a

difference I can't tell you. Of course he can only do it about every 4

months, but the lidocaine type drug gives instant relief and the steroid

takes about 2days to a week or so to take down the inflammation.

Ok, so if you do it awake it will hurt a bit, but I'm a woosssss and I can

get it done.

Just sharing.,
