POTS is diagnosed on the basis of heart rate increase and heart waveform

signature revealed by electrocardiogram, not on the basis of a drop in blood

pressure, as is the case with orthostatic hypotension and neurally mediated

hypotension (NMH). Neurally mediated hypotension is commonly associated with

POTS,

but having NMH is not a prerequisite for a diagnosis of POTS. The secondary

symptoms of POTS vary significantly from case to case. The most commonly

reported symptoms are listed below.

[The above is from: http://home.att.net/~potsweb/POTS.html. Thank you Jo for

the above article.]

Hi all,

Based on the above information, do EDSers have all of the above POTS, OH and

NMH. I was never tested on my low BP. I have low BP on standing with and/or

without the Heart rate change. My worse high heart rate has been 180 to 200.

Only once or so. Any ideas? What was your lowest BP with high HR and when should

we tell the doctor :-). Caro.
