Hi Donna, I am sorry to hear that it has spread to lower extremities. That is great that you are still able to work. How did it originally start? Was it a work injury? I think that you will be happy with the Duragesic patch. Ive been on it for about 3 years now, I was switched from MSContin because I was not getting adequate pain relief. I find that with the Duragesic the relief is more constant without the highs and lows of oral meds. Happy holidays, take care, Love Jai

Happy holidays, take care, Hi Jai I returned to work last week and have averaged about 3-4 hrs a day, its low key and pretty easy work, NOTHING like I did before LOL. I do miss it though. I was an aide on an Alzheimers unit for about a yr. I was bathing a resident and they are rather combative and aggressive during bathtime, they dont like it at all...anyway, she grabbed my left wrist and twisted it, resulting in a severe sprain. It escalated to what we have now after 14 months. Im in hopes that I can get the patches soon..they have me on a fairly low dose of Percocet right now and its doing absolutely nothing for me to be honest. But it gets me thru the worst of it. Im glad to hear from you though that it does provide relief for a longer period..thank you for telling me that. I hope that you and yours have a wonderful holiday as well. Its so hard to believe that its almost here! Hugs Donna I was an aide on an

Guest guest
Jai, I had a question for you. I am on MS Contin and because I am getting alot of breakthrough pain my dr wants to switch to me to Oxycontin at a higher dose because with MS Contin you can only go up 15 mg at a time and with oxycontin you can go up 5mg at a time. I am allergic to most tape and patches..because of the glues. I was allergic to the lidocaine patches they really irritated my skin. Is the duragesic patches like that? If they are I guess that's why he isn't contemplating starting me on something like that and wants to continue pills with me. Wish I didn't have such sentative skin sometimes..Hugs..Ginnyjaismonkey@... wrote: In a message dated 12/17/2004 6:34:31 AM Eastern Standard Time, RSD-CRPSofAmerica writes: saw the nurse practioner who took a look at my legs after I told her that I was having problems with swelling behind my knees, burning in my thighs and hips and in my lower legs...I lifted my pant legs and the mottling was incredible...she agreed that most likely it had spread to the lower extremities...how comforting.
