Hi Everyone,

Well after that fiasco with that rotten pain doctor, I'll be going to Beth-Israel Hospital's pain management clinic in Manhattan down on Union Square. They not only take Medicaid but they actually know about RSD and they treat people who have Medicaid like PEOPLE and not like crap. I told the woman that Dr Perri ordered the blocks and she told me that they aren't going by what he orders but they are going to do extensive evaluating on me and then Dr Karande and the other doctors who I've been assigned to will determine my treatment. She wasn't at all nasty or standoffish about me having Medicaid. Dawn, I spoke to my lawyer about Dr Rosenthal and he said because he isn't a pain management doctor that I can't see him for right now because it might put a damper on my case but he did say that if Beth-Israel wants me to have the blocks that he'll speak to them and get them to agree to me going to Dr Rosenthal because he's right across the river and I won't have to travel 2 hours for them and he has his number and address right on the front of my file folder so if they do order the blocks he can get the ball rolling there. My appointment at Beth-Israel is on January 3rd which is a major surprise. I thought I'd have to wait 3 months like I did with Albany Medical when I went there to see the neurologist who told me there's nothing they can do for me. Also, my regular doctor is sending me to Dr Dodd in Woodstock because of all the problems I've been having swallowing and the acid thing in my stomach and the pain. He wants to rule out Esophageal Cancer like my father and one brother had. He said because of my family history with cancer, he wants to make sure there's nothing going on in there and said it's probably all nerves and stress with everything going on but he just wants to make sure so I get to have one of those glorious down the throat scopes done. I wonder if they still have to knock you out to do that? Well that's about it for now..all I can remember anyway..Hope all of you are having a very low pain day and know you're all in my thoughts.

Gentle Hugs,

~Chrissy~

Chrissy,

I was so worried about you and so glad that you will finally be getting treatments that should have started a long time ago! Beth Israel is a great Hospital with a great reputation and even though you have to travel at least you will get the right evaluation from the doctors and will be treated like a human being, not you social security number like so many others! I actually have to go and see an IME on January 5th in Albany N.Y.. It has to keep being rescheduled, because I keep getting sick, but I will do that until I am healthy enough to go. Thank goodness for attorneys, at least now I know that they really are good for something! I used to dislike them as much as the doctors!!!

Well at least it is good to know that if you do need blocks done in the future, that you do not have to drive all the way to the city and can go to Dr. Rosenthat to get them done! They only take a few minutes and would be crazy to drive that far to have them done! An hour away is far enough for me!

I am also glad that they are going to rule out the cancer for you also! I think it will give you big relief to know that stress can play such a horrible role on our bodies and cause us to get so sick! I know this to be a fact with me! Having terrible problems with the disc in my neck again, but believe it is all the stress of the Holidays and recently getting sick with the Bronchitis and Sinusitis! I would give anything to tell someone that I was healthy for a change, wouldn't you?

Well please keep us all updated on what is going on with you and try and rest and relax for a while! I know the tests for the cancer will come back fine! Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and Best Wishes to you and your family. Have a Great Holiday and LOL always!
