Bush's new drug-abuse plan, quoted from the AP: " ... to help states develop

monitoring systems to track a patient's use of prescription medicine. The

monitoring programs flag cases that indicate a pattern of abuse, such as " doctor

shopping, " where a patient gets prescriptions for drugs from multiple

physicians. "

It isn't enough that my pain doctor has to justify his pratice and

prescriptions EVERY YEAR to a politically-appointed board...that every year, a

doctor I

don't know and haven't approved, much less chosen, goes over my medical

records without my knowledge, and makes a decision about whether or not I'll be

allowed to continue living without crippling pain...that the idea of using

computer programs written by someone with who knows what political agenda is a

direct

violation of privacy...and you know that once information's collected,

history tells us it gets abused...

Oh, right. A Federal judge just decided that medical privacy was an invalid

legal concept because a reasonable person can't expect any, given the

" information age " . Privacy isn't allowable because it's too hard to accomplish.

Why

don't we just issue armbands and get over this concept of government for the

people?

Between this and the gay marriage issue, I'm really wishing my family had

never left Québec. Does the Canadian government grant political asylum to US

citizens?

I'm sorry, but this is making me really, really angry. (And it's time for my

anti-anxiety meds...yes, prescription....)
