Guest guest
Thanks to Jackie and for some advice about getting started on trying to solve this mystery. I went to the allergist yesterday and she changed my meds. I was on zyrtec, over the counter zantac, and zoloft. She sees no need for the zoloft (I really didn't either). We are now trying claritin, stronger zantac, and some kind of steroid called men...something. I had tried prednasone the first week this happened, and it made me kind of crazy, so we'll see about the " m " stuff! Also, she ordered lots of blood tests, so I went and had them done last night. It would be nice to find something there, but then I'm scared it might be something serious as well. When the results come in, I will ask better what tests were done so you guys can let me know if they did them all. She also told me some foods to stay away from, as I was reading in your letters. Cheese and sausage and coke......those will be my tough ones. So I had a pizza last night as a sort of goodbye until these things get under control. It's great to have this group, and I must say that my heart goes out to Shirese, having no insurance. This has already cost me alot for the meds.....and I'm only paying $10 per doctor visit. ps - I'm near Chicago...anyone close by me? Thanks for your support. Guest guest
Hi , I am so glad that your doctor is trying different meds on you. By any chance is the " m " steroid called " methylprednisolone " ? They would give my son this before surgery when he was sick. I hope that you find some relief. My heart goes out to Shirese also. We all know how costly this can be. Let us know how the tests go......GOOD LUCK ! ! take care, Ann >From: 159@... >Reply-To: urticaria >To: urticaria >Subject: Re: Thank you and my update >Date: Tue, 15 Jan 2002 08:24:36 EST > >Thanks to Jackie and for some advice about getting started on trying >to solve this mystery. Guest guest
Hi , I'd love to know what steriod you're using and the dosage. Is the " M " stuff Medrol? I've been on that one! Somewhere a while back I either heard or read of a med that's coming out that acts like a steriod but is as toxic. Wish I could find out about it . Hugging you in my heart.
