Hello, my name is Lorna and I have been reading your posts for a while

now. I am 41, mother of four, three of them homeschooled. My lower jaw

surgery is scheduled for October 2. Your posts have been a fount of

information and I thank you all for that. One of the biggest tools seems

to be having a positive attitude, so I'm working on that!

I used to juice fast so I have a juicer, and just wondered if any one

else out there used fresh juices in their recovery process? Apples,

cantaloupe (ambrosia on earth!), celery, carrot, etc. provide a lot of

healthy nutrients, though not a lot of calories. I'm hoping to do a lot

of juicing in between the soups and shake ideas I've gotten from you

guys.

Someone on a recent post mentioned constipation, and when I fasted I used

to drink psyllium which helps elimination. I still use it off and on, and

plan on drinking it during the recovery period. I use the Arise and Shine

psyllium, and you just take a teaspoon in an 8 oz tumbler of water, shake

it good, drink it quick, then drink another 10-12 ounces of water after

that. I only mention it because it keeps juice fasters going regularly.

Although, someone in an earlier post had mentioned prune juice which

might be much easier...

Anyway, my prayers go out to all of you already in the fray of surgery

and recovery. I appreciate all of your sharing and the support you've

been given by the folks on this list.

Lorna
