Hi

I've been thru orthotics, you name it.

I wore a full, toe to under knee, plaster, old fashioned cast post fusion

surgery, for 6 weeks. The hard custom AFO is now, with the stimulator, post non

fusion & we are giving this at least a 6-9 month try. And, I was already on

SSDI when this happened. I gave up routine nursing, which I miss terribly, a

long time ago. I don't think that longing, will ever go away.

I haven't worked since 1995 & at that time, I had been working as a nurse

paralegal for near 7 years, with my own office & almost came & went as I

pleased.

They let me do almost anything, because I was there when they needed me, got

the job done & then some, even if they called me at home & even on vacation!

And, I won millions & millions of dollars for them!

I would only say, that the longer you wait, the more damage to repair & the

harder to do. Get my message?

Let me know. Take care,

Hey thanks for the input. That's what is bothering me is that my ankle is

turning in also because of this . It not only affecting my arch part- but the

other bones in my foot and ankle. And is affecting my knee (pretty shot already}

and hip. I've had custom orthotics for about a year now and did pretty good

until just recently with this right foot. I'm a nurse too and I can look down at

my foot and see where this is headed.

How long do you have to wear the cast. I can handle crutches. I also have had

quite a few surgeries- but not near the number you've had. I did well with

both knee surgeries- it was the going back to the same work environment that

didn't help. Right now I'm off work and going to apply for disability. I've done

all I can do emotionally and physically. I don't have the FIGHT anymore to

deal with extra pain it causes. The surgeon I'm going to in Savannah is supposed

to be pretty good. I guess I can talk to him if he thinks anything else would

work first. Anyways- Thanks a bunch! It is comforting to know that most people

didn't have any problems,
