Guest guest
Hi , I am sorry I have been so behind and I am not sure at this point what has happened with your dad till I read more posts, but my prayers are with you and your family. I know this is a hard time for you, especially around the holiday! HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think of you!!! Shauna Woodard wrote: I went to see him last weekend. He is off the ventilator & out of ICU. But he's in bad shape still. He's so weak he can't do anything for himself. Has to depend on someone to feed him. Has problems holding a cup to get something to drink. He can't get up out of bed by himself. They put the catheter back in because he was having accidents. He is still having a lot of breathing problems & his bowels still aren't back to " normal " . My brother is there thru Friday & then I'll be going down. I'm not sure what's going to happen from here. He is just so miserable. I could see it in his eyes. I cry every time I think about it. He's so helpless. :-( W 380/270/160 O. wrote: > Thanks !!! How is your Dad? Guest guest
, I can soooo relate to you... Many of the ones I lost were all around this time, especially my mom 12-12-02 and my grandma (mom's mom) 12-5-02 seven days before my mom... this time of the year I begin to smell it in the air... and depression begins to set... I have allowed this to happen for 4 years and that includes the eating getting out of control this time of the year... but this year, I am taking a stand to turn it around... We will get through this, enjoy those that you can HUGS!!! Email me if you need to talk more, I am going through some grief counseling and I have some information they passed out at group last week that may help! Shauna Woodard wrote: Thanks Shauna. I appreciate it. At this point I think we just need to find long term care for him. I'm going to call around to some places around here tomorrow to see what i can find out. If anything is available. And the holidays being here makes it worse. This is the time of year we lost my grandma (dad's mom) when I was a kid. I'd rather just skip Thanksgiving. Guest guest
, My heart goes out to you and your father right now. Even though things are rough right now, cherish the time you do have. I lost my mom just about this time last year, and am still getting over it. I'll be praying for your family. Donna in VA LAP RNY 9-18-06 315/273/171 Re: OT ~ W. Thanks Mike. Guest guest
Thanks Donna. I'm hoping to get him into a nursing home here where I am. I faxed a list of local ones to his social worker. I'm hoping they can get him into one of them. W 380/269/160 aladikat@... wrote: > , > My heart goes out to you and your father right now.
