Guest guest
Welcome, I am Dawn - mom of 3 and non stop nurser for 3 years :-) My oldest is 3 years and nursed 18 month and my 2nd is 14 months and nursed 6 months and my youngest is almost 6 weeks and is still nursing. Although we've learned my 2nd born has hearing problems, it is my youngest that is my source of worry. Born with a congenital heart defect, he is suffering from a number of problems stemming from that (tachynpea - breathing fast, enlarged liver, wet lungs, swollen heart, rapid heartbeat, sweating, failure to thrive, lethargy, edema, pulmonary hypertension....that can all be summed up in one scary word - congestive heart failure - and he is on 2 medications already to relive symptoms until they can operate). He hasn't been nursing well at all and the only time he wets diapers is after receiving his twice daily does of Lasix (diuretic). We go in weekly for weight checks and he's lost 6 ozs last week. If it hasn't started uphill again by Thursday - they'll either admit him or change/add medications or start high calorie formula. According to my home scale - he was down another 3 ounces.....but my kids mess with the baby scale and I'm not positive on that. LMAO. Here I go again...rambling on! Guest guest
Hi, Raylene, I have two kids, son 2-1/2 and daughter 7 1/2 months. My daughter loves solid foods, slept through the night for three days once she started them, then decided to cut molars. Now she sleeps with us again so that I wake up, roll over and nurse her back to sleep. I figure she nurses 3-4x per night but I don't mind since I get plenty of rest having her with me and my older one likes to sleep in. Guest guest
Lem... when was the last time Beck had a bone density scan? You could be right about the prednisone being the culprit. Annette -----Original Message-----From: lem1432 Sent: Friday, December 06, 2002 2:32 PMTo: OurMyositis Subject: Hi allHello everyone, I hope you all are having a good day. Beck and I went Christmas shopping for a short while this morning. Trying to drag in a little at a time. I wanted to thank you all for your replys about the fosamax. It is the 70mg. take once a week. The nurse also told me to take 1000mg daily of calcium. I just like to check things out really good before taking anything. I was thinking about becks broken foot, she has had 4 cortizone shots in that foot for heal spurs/pain. I wondered since the cortizone/pred. weakens bones if thats why her that foot broke so easily. Just thinking outloud. Have a good day, stay warm. lem
Guest guest
Hi Lem, Prednisone is a very bad thing for bones. When I began taking it in 1993 my Rheumy also started me on Oyster Shell Calcium 500Mg twice a day. I now take CitraCal instead of the other. I had a bone density scan about a year and a half and they siad the bones were very strong. If Beck starts on the Calcium have her Dr. suggest the best one for her to take. A belated Happy Birthday and hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. Guest guest
Hi, Ed. Good to hear from you. I was wondering how you and Pat have been doing since her mom's passing. I pray for God's peace to be upon you at this time and over the holidays, as well as everyone else (including myself) who have lost loved ones during this time of year. Guest guest
, What a lovely photo!! Your kids are so lovely. Isn't it funny that one day you had one child and the next you ended up with three!! Sorry to hear that they are all sick again but I guess that is just part of the fun of being a mother to 3.
