Guest guest
Hi Vicki. The moat is not doing too well. I'm afraid it's just not cold enough. And as I told you last year, we don't get snow in Canada until the week before Christmas. You sound like you are having just a delightful time with your computer. When the little darlings take it into their heads to misbehave it can get very frustrating. But stick with it: it sounds like you are really getting close to getting it to work properly. Interesting pictures, Vicki. Are you fully recovered from Zanna's shopping excursion yet? And : when you get a chance, let us know how the showing went. Keep warm. Guest guest
Hi Vicki! Computers are enough to drive people crazy! I am having problems with mine and don't know what to do. My system resources were at 28%, so I cleaned, checked for errors, defragged, and disabled stuff from my start menu. I have about 56% free now, but it used to be at 86%, so I don't know what is going on. Ugh! Vickie Well as most of you already know, I'm trying to get this computer up and running. The other day my friend told me that one of the reasons her hubby got so discusted was that Windows was not recognizing the CD-Rom... OK, that's fine .... now I have an area to look in. The settings were incorrect so I changed them. It worked like a dream for about an hour until I had to reboot the system to load the files I had extracted. Guess what, now I can't get the CD-Rom to work in Windows again and all the settings are correct. This is going to give me a totally WHITE head of hair before I'm done. I almost ordered a new computer yesterday... but, decided to work this problem out. I must be totally nuts. I hope everyone is warm today. That includes our friends North of us.... Mike and Dawn... are you freezing yet? How's that moat coming along Mike...? Guest guest
Vickie, I am having the same problems. My resources were at 14% the other day. I have to reset it, close all the programs that open automatically and start over all the time. It is really irritating. I think its time for a new hard drive. Guest guest
I say just go out and buy a new computer if you can afford it, Vicki. You're going to drive yourself absolutely CRAZY!!!!!! You don't need this extra stress. That just my 2 cents worth. ) And no, I'm NOT keeping warm. It's FREEZING here. Temp. got no higher than about 5 degrees, Farenheit today. And there was quite a wind blowing, as well. Not sure what the wind chill factor was, but it was frigging cold. And of course, today was the day Emma and I had all our running around to to. Not sure if I've mentioned to you all, that my right leg (same leg as the blood clots were in) has been getting worse and worse. Extremely swollen, very red along the inside of my calf, EXTREMELY sore to the slightest touch, etc. My foot gets about 3 sizes bigger than what it normally is and turns purple. My leg felt exactly like it did when I had the DVT, so I finally begged my Dr. to fit me in this morning and she lined up an ultrasound for my leg. However, she doubted it was another clot since I've been on Coumadin and my INR is staying at a good level and she noticed how dry and cracked my heels are (they really are bad...very embarrassing!) and she felt I had a very bad infection in my leg due to my cracked heels. I had NEVER heard such a thing, but where I'm on the Methx., I'm not able to fight infections and the cracks in my heels allows that nasty stuff to enter my body, I guess. Anyway, the ultrasound was extremely painful (I sobbed like I did during my EMG, if you can believe it) and there were no clots (thank God!!) but he said something about edema (is this swelling??), which also led the radiologist into believing it was infection, as well. So, I'm on an antibiotic and I pray this clears up soon. It's sooooo painful!!! Dawn anzavic@... wrote: > Well as most of you already know, I'm trying to get this computer up and > running. Guest guest
Dawn, you leg sounds terrible! I am glad you went to the doctor. I didn't think about getting infections through cracked heels, so I guess I better haul out the foot cream and get these cleared up! Keep us posted. Hope you feel better soon! Guest guest
Yes, my leg is terrible. Believe it or not, I'm more freaked knowing it's INFECTION than if it were another blood clot. Strange, eh?? Anyway, I've got my antibiotics and plan on taking them religiously. I had no idea about the cracked heel thing, either and mine are just terrible. The best thing I've found to help them is to load them up with Vaseline at night before you go to bed and put socks on. Your feet will look so much better in about a week or so, but you must continue this regimine if you want them to stay nice and soft. That's where I always go wrong.
