Guest guest
When I had the CT scan in Nov about 3 days before the foot surgery I got the bills and on both were medication bills. So...I called and asked for the details on it. And lo and behold they had put the medication charges from the foot surgery on to the CT scan bill too. They took it off. One of our old insurance companies used to pay the insured a portion of a recovered wrong charge if it was over $100 or $200. I did challenge a fee for pain med machine after my knee surgery in 1991. I never had it even hooked up or anything. It sat on the shelf for the 2 days I was in. After reviewing my chart notes, they corrected the charge. However, when I was in Nebr. for Marc's graduation I became ill and had to go to the emergency room. They paid it as out of network with the appropriate deductible and I never questioned it. But...we needed to change our coverage due to some reason I can't remember and we traveled over to Ft. to see what they'd offer and just in the course of conversation I mentioned that bill was for emergency. The gal said that should have been paid in full so they reimbursed me the money I had paid to the providers. BTW, that company is out of business. They were so great but maybe you can see why!!! It was a local Colorado Company who had a lot of the school districts and gave an excellent rate! Lelia
