Guest guest Posted December 2, 2001 Report Share Posted December 2, 2001 I've been offered a 3 day contract to fly out west (near the Northern Territory border) and do some first aid, Para-medic stuff at a big rodeo. Pay's good, accommodation, food etc, thrown in. I have to say that I just love bull riding! Can't explain it. Part of me thinks it's stupid, but if you're there, and you see it......I'll probably sit in a 4WD ambulance and wait for something to happen.( usually doesn't) And I'll just watch the show. Box seats! Flying doctors will handle anything really bad............ Now a lot of people who'll be there spend months on end on very remote cattle stations, working damned hard. When these rodeos happen, they come in to town and go 100% ape shit. Serious drinking, Hmmm....bloody serious drinking! Shit! Do they DRINK?!!! In the past I would have NOT even contemplated taking up an offer like this, because of my "disease". Dangerous place! Bad environment. Slippery. Anhedonia rules. But now.......... Bet ya arse I'm going! Yee Hah! LOL! So happy to be free to do these things! If I asked an AAper, they'd forbid it. And I'd probably have listened.
